Though there is something humorous about taking on the roles of these tiny furry animals. They aren't your average heroes, after all! Apparently, G Force was satisfying enough for some that they grew to appreciate the game. It's not common to hear that a film game was enjoyable - so we better look into this. If anything was going to make you play G Force - the narrative alone will do it. The story spurns from the film where G Force agent Darwin is tasked with defeating an evil billionaire and his live army of electrical appliances.
Albeit comical, there's clearly some thought and effort gone into this - and that sets the foundations for the game. G-Force is a third-person action-adventure game where you'll battle through a level complex combatting varieties of appliances. What catches attention is that there is a surprisingly strategic approach to this game. Many enemies won't succumb to the run and gun mechanics that movie games traditionally have.
Even more surprising - there are interchangeable genres of platforming and action. You'll have to use your fly pal to navigate through obstacles and progress to the next area of the level. Not to mention the massively entertaining hamster ball vehicle - it's serious business, but you can't help laughing.
Perhaps what's not so surprising is the game is very linear. You won't see a change in environments, and eventually, the enemies become a bit samey. The difficulty is not too intense, either.
That's more or less to be expected from a movie game gear towards children, though. We can take solace in the fact that G Force's positives outweigh the stereotypes of these types of offerings. G Force is by no means a perfect game - but it really clocks at how solid of a game it is. Honestly, if more movie games were made like this, perhaps there wouldn't be such a negative association with them. It's one of those games you'll pick up and groan - but then find yourself striving to finish it.
